SPECTACLES
i2i Optometrists offer a wide range of frames from a variety of differing designers, where we will be happy to advise on colour, style and shape of the frames to suit the individual. The latest designer name to our collection is from the top designer ALEXANDER MCQUEEN. The glasses pay homage to MCQUEEN’s show stopping designs, with attention to tradition and craftsmanship. All the frames have the MCQUEEN logo stamped upon the sides.
Some of the ranges include: Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, Armani, Donna Karan, DKNY, Jai Kudo, Burberry, Polo Ralph Lauren, Austin Reed, Lagerfeld, Ted Baker, Jigsaw, Nicole Farhi, and Calvin Klein. We can also source frames on request. To help you decide upon your frames we utilise the Activisu system where we can take your picture and advise upon frame
We also provide a variety of protective eyewear for sports including prescription swimming goggles.
NHS prescription glasses are available for those eligible to receive a voucher these groups include: under 16’s, people receiving income support, income based jobseekers allowance, working family tax credit, disabled persons tax credit, or a HC2 certificate.
Sunglasses
With summer here, now is the time to get your prescription sunglasses. Prescription sunglasses can be made from any of our frames including GUCCI, ARMANI, BURBERRY, CK, DKNY and Nautica sunglasses.
There are wide selections of tints that are available including graduation of tint, mirror coatings, photochromatic and a two colour graduated tint, and if we don’t have the tint in stock we provide a tint matching service to get your personal preference. We can also provide polarised lenses, which prevent excess glare.
Lenses
We can provide a wide selection of corrective lenses for all types of prescription – Hyperopia (long sighted), myopia (short sighted), astigmatism (irregular curvature of the eye), and presbyopia (where reading glasses are required).
To improve the cosmesis of the spectacles we will advise on lens types, materials and coatings. Lens types advised upon are single vision, bifocals and varifocals. Materials which are used for lenses are plastic, polycarbonate and glass. To make the lenses thinner we can increase the refractive index and make the lenses aspheric. The coatings that are available for plastic lenses are hard coated, antireflection coating and tints. Also available we can provide photochromatic lenses which can go darker in bright sunlight.
There are a number of suppliers of lenses which we regularly use which include Zeiss, Nikon, American Optical, Essilor – Varilux.
Contact Lenses
We provide a comprehensive contact lens fitting service which includes the initial eye and contact lens consultations with after care and solutions included in the health care package.
We provide a ranges of contact lenses from Johnson and Johnson with the Acuvue range including the latest Acuvue Advance with the Hydraclear material. Also we can source lenses from most manufacturers such as Bausch and LOMB, in a variety of modalities from daily lenses, coloured lenses, monthly lenses and gas permeable lenses.
We can provide a range of solutions on request. We usually provide the facility for the patient to pay by direct debit or standing order so that the lenses can be delivered at home if they wish.
